Honey makes me feel gross so anytime I say that it’s more to carry home a point. “Honey, that’s why I said it like…” and I’ll repeat myself slowly. Stuff like that. Darling is something to jokingly call your boyfriend in a fake English accent. Babe is more palatable but the reason poor Garam is struggling is because these things don’t just roll off the tongue when you’re being nice. It’s easier to use sickly sweet pet names in a derogatory way.
