Not necessarily, that's what the MC's initial plan was, as we have seen earlier on in the story. That's what the author refers to in the creator's note.
We really don't know how this will end up.
So judging by the authors notes, i think the ML will kill himself in season 3 if what they say is that he will regret his actions in season 2 so badly that he wants to rip his heart out or gauge his eyes out.
Either ML kills himself or he gets killed.
