i see what you mean, it seems like tay and ilay lowkey have some plot protection b/c they're the main couple, but that's not *really* the case.
Tay actually does fight back against ilay A LOT (especially later, but you prob haven't reached there yet), but similarly to what you've said, you can't really budge ilay... Also, there's the fact that he could die if he does something that annoys ilay, so he can only do so much.
he kinda just lets ilay do what he wants because, and this is my guess, but he's just given up when it comes to those things; he knows he has no choice so he just toughs it out.
I think one of the biggest things between Tay and Xinlu is that Tay genuinely likes/d Xinlu, so when Xinlu tried to force himself onto Tay, not only did tay try to defend himself and ended up hurting xinlu, but it prob hurt tay more b/c he was actually interested in xinlu and it could be seen as xinlu taking advantage of his interest.
both characters are pretty obsessive and controlling, but xinlu's also shown to be a bit more manipulative imo. when he cries, i honestly still don't know if his tears are real or not, and
(VAGUE SPOILER ALERT) xinlu does end up doing smth in the later chaps that isn't super great
I'm rlly not tryna justify Ilay here, nor am I trying to hate on Xinlu. I don't rlly know why ppl might hate Xinlu, these are just my observations so please don't take offense or anything :)
Not offensive at all! I was just skeptical and bothered about Tay being "shown" (by the author/artist) to be hypocritical by being more receptive of being topped by Ilay but don't want Xinlu to do it, and was thinking it's because of Ilay's ML-Plot-armor. Although the back of my mind is shouting the logic why, Ilay being strong and deranged and probably also because Tay really wanna top Xinlu lol.
also Tay saying Xinlu's a hypocrite for going bottom on Ilay but won't bottom for Tay is so real and funny hshshhs

Like come on... I can't see why people like Taeui and Ilay together. They are just a bunch of cheaters ! I'm currently at chapter 64 and I can't stomach the hypocrisy and the cheating going on... Over and over again... I can't see why people are drawn to their dynamics when it's only cheating and rape?
Ilay is a psycho and I pretty much agree that Taeui must be in a difficult position because of that... Yet he needs to faces the truth when he said he likes Xinlu... No, he doesn't like him one bit because you're fucking cheating on him over and over again. Clearly if Taeui truly like Xinlu, Taeui wouldn't have hesitate between Ilay and Xinlu. Taeui should have priorities Xinlu over Ilay and his uncle by quitting everything like Xinlu proposed before because honestly if his uncle wanted good things for Taeui he wouldn't have dragged Taeui in this place. He wouldn't let this psycho (Ilay) near his nephew ! Instead Taeui still decide to bear through this 6 months... And to tolerate the rape/cheating done by Ilay to him. Like how can you still have the balls to look into your boyfriend's eyes when you're fooling around with the guy that he hates with every right because you're cheating on him with this guy!? Like just let him go and stop wasting his time...? Why Taeui have to still be in his relationship when he's just fucking with another guy?
I stopped reading Passion at the end of season 2 because I hated Ilay and Taeui's relationship... it was just fucked up. I felt bad for Taeui at first when he caught Xinlu and Ilay sleeping together...
But now with the end of season 2 and where I currently am in the manwha (chapter 64)...I just feel bad for Xinlu and I fucking hate the other two.
I wanted to give another shot for this manwha because I saw the hype for this manwha on other platform but I still hate it.
I am just surprised by how positive the critics are on this site because usually there's a lot of people who condemned cheating and red/black flags seme.

Can somebody tell me why people hate Xinlu so much? (I'm chapter 52 in) and I just don't get it, probably because I fucking like him and so far his actions aren't ones I'll condemn so much.
He's also so cute and obsessive lol. and I'm always weirded out by how mc can punch Xinlu to unconsciousness to stop him from being so dominant in bed but would just sigh and take Ilay's advances even though he's always super close to getting fucked in the ass (part of it is probably because Ilay's a wacko) but MC honestly doesn't even try...like visually he just doesn't nor does he think of trying (chapter 52 in atleast).
