I lost my mom too, and live with an ex abusive person too, so I understand. I mean, I still wouldn't do what Eunho has done, and yall may hate me, but many people don't understand from a psychological standpoint how that abuse, neglect, and really betrayal to be real, runs deep or how it affects someone's psych going forward. Everyone has a choice, and Eunho chose wrong 100%, but to blame him 100% too I think is too much given the truth. And I genuinely don't know why anyone is shocked by the backstory though, since statistically in the US at least, 25% of all offenders have confirmed psychological issues, 93% of all highly likely having deep rooted issues yet undiagnosed or diagnosed, 54% of which are personality related (which Eunho may fall under due to ptsd). Im NOT excusing or dismissing his actions let me be VERY clear (I was a victim at a very young age, so I'd know folks). All I'm saying is there's a high possibility that he genuinely needs help mentally that may be able to try to at least guide him the right way going forward since what happened cant be undone. (Though, the story likely won't divulge this, of course.)
I agree with you :') it doesn't excuse anything at all, but now we can see the reasoning behind his actions. Some people fail to grasp that giving him this backstory is just showing what happened and not trying to excuse his actions.
these people don’t understand that an explanation doesn’t necessarily mean excusing. i don’t think them showing us his backstory is supposed to excuse his SA rather it’s explaining why he’s the way he is and that’s the difference i think a lot of people don’t understand.
