I actually really like gangster dude though like if the thread hadn't been cut things would have gone super well. Yeah he turns out to be selfish later but he clearly entered his full blown villain arc bc he was told he'd literally never find love and it was his fault for being shitty so he just accepted he was shitty and rolled with it.
