I just thought the same thing. I just started this and decided to read through the comment sections because I’m undecided if I want to continue this. Does the ML get any better because otherwise I’m out?
He gets better with time and isn't necessarily good or bad. He even starts to care whether MC lives or dies at least. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from his beginnings because no one ever gets apologies or justice for seme menace arcs. But.....you can risk it (I think) for the story

I may stick around for a few more chapter to see how i'm feeling about the plot, but as it stands he genuinely sucks and i'm exhausted how constant this type of "personality" is so ubiquitous with the Young Master type ML in romance and the excuses made for this type of toxic masculinity simply because the ML is rich and an attractive which is literally how real life works as sadly. I don't need my fantasy entertainment celebrating this as well.
My feelings exactly, comrade. I go through that exact inner monologue every time an ML starts as an ass hat. Readers hardcore defend these losers. These books and communities use the same mentality they used to justify Chris Brown beating Rihanna. This is making me mad all over again lol. Author's on thin ice
I had a female coworker unironically tell me Chris Brown is her favorite music artist and actually went to see him with her step mom and friends 2 weeks ago in concert. She’s 26 years old. I hate this world.

While I wouldn’t wish that upon anyone, it’s so sad people lack emotional sympathy or understanding unless they experience something themselves. Otherwise since it’s doesn’t effect them they don’t actually care.

So...........I'm supposed to root for a violent asshole in the abnormally chiseled body of a teenager??? I need to risk feeling like I'm reading a story between an adult and a minor, in hopes that he will no longer verbally/physically attack the kind seminarian MC and act like a moral-less asshat with the power of......love?
