
I will say, as someone who generally really dislikes rape as a plot element, it didn't bother me so much in this story because there was no maliciousness behind it. Due to his extreme sexual abuse as a child, Kei rationalized that sex (and rape, by extension) was purely transactional. He convinced himself that he wasn't hurt by rape because it was something that happened as a means to an end, and following that logic, he used it as a means to an end without realizing that it harmed others. Which doesn't excuse what he did, but it does make me feel better about the eventual romance, because I believe Kei truly never understood that what he was doing was wrong.
I'm new here. Are people forgetting about the rape? It definitely leaves bad taste in my mouth. Or those for who do already left a long time ago lol.
