no. lol. maybe i just expect more actual PLOT from BL nowadays. the plot was very jumbled, I wasn’t ever really sure of what was happening.
its also really weird to see someone who was clearly not exposed to/knowledgeable about american culture and didn’t really do much research about the black experience/culture and gangs/crime in america write a story about an american prison. like- c’mon prisons are kinda what america is known for (the US has 22% of the worlds prison population, even though the US only accounts for like- 4% of the worlds population).

the rampant rape and sexual assault is also.. a choice. yeah prisons have rates of sexual assault n shit, but it felt like every other sex scene was noncon. most people in prison are working. like *actually* working (manufacturing, farming, maintenance), but these guys deadass just sat around n fucked each other. THEY EVEN HAD A PORNO THEATER?? IN PRISON??
