I think its cause as long as the second wife is also from a noble family they dont care

I never understand it in these stories when the father favors the wife's daughter from a previous marriage. Wouldn't nobles prefer to pass down their titles to their own bloodline? Or was the dad cheating with the second wife before getting married and she's actually his illegitimate daughter?
