And it’s such a whirlwind. It is far from a perfect plot- and lives up to its title of sadistic beauty- even if it’s just a side story. It’s definitely one of my top manga picks not because of the smut or toxic antagonist- it’s the little moments of introspection each of these characters exhibit. It’s personal and relatable. I think MC becomes a powerful character at the end as he fights for and wins back his freedom and control. And with it, still chooses to face his abuser again and maybe see the change the abuser has made for himself. I wish there was like a “where are they now” chapter- I really want to see how they’ve progressed.
