I don't think old people in countryside even have a smartphone to begin with to be able to use translation.

It was weird seeing Ho use a laptop and airpods when no one really used tech for most of the story (except phones to get numbers and call an ambulance/text).
I thought this would have been set a bit in the past and that's why the old guy wouldn't just be able to use Google translate on his letter.
But eh refreshing to see people avoid the internet in the modern day and touching grass instead.
