Me too. I honestly feel sorry for him; he's naive, scared to stand up against his family. I think he lived a very sheltered, inexperienced life by his father on purpose to make him utterly dependent on his family's wealth to survive, making him complicit and easy to manipulate.
He always felt like he was on the cusp of a redemption arc, but he was just too naive and inexperienced and scared to finally make that change that he needed.
