It's totally the ML. I think there's a part where the MC even says about the ML reminding him of the boy.
Also, go back to Ch 8 to where the ML is on the phone with one of his guys. They infiltrated the lab and looked into the Director's family history, which only came up as having 2 sons. However, ML seemed to be looking for a 'daughter' and is angry at the suggestion that she could be dead.
Theory:
What likely happened is they were both experiments, but the MC had a feminine appearance and long hair and had admitted when they were children that the director was his father. ML is trying to find the 'girl' he met back then (who is actually the MC), and MC thinks that the boy died in the experiments (who is alive as the ML having had the experiment be successful, this giving him a strange consuming power). So they reasonably do not recognize each other as adults either thinking one is dead and the other is a woman.
okay, that is an excellent theory. I'm guessing this is the plot, as you said about them meeting as children while they were experiments.
Is it just me or the boy(from 10 years ago; research lab) that mc is talking about is the ml? And hated those royal people lol
