Why would we even pay for the illegal translation ? If I want to pay money to read I'll directly pay official trad, the one that get the author money. Who in their right mind pay for illegal translation ?
i get it but some manhwas are not licensed in english yet which most of these scans get so people will buy wven if their translation sucks
And it's not even just web comic groups. There's web novel translation groups out there too paywalling their unlicensed shit, and the quality ain't even worth it as it's all mtl. Like, at least get the pronouns right, geez.
But like, can't they just request official sites for licensing ? Or just pay for the official raws and then use any image translator ? It'd be the exact same quality and at least the author would get paid.
it actually depends on the manhwas popularity to have a breakthrough on overseas license. like for example on a*ura scans, it's free but the quality is top notch and translations are better. they also stop translating if some of their projects are getting licensed in english so the author can get profits. luascans and others, they're just rip offs
