It looks like dark blonde to me (it's not brown). I think the problem was, that the Millers supposed to have platinum blonde hair, so it had to be lighter than Joshs.^^ And it is a different artist that the one to adapted "Kiss, me Liar", so probably the author wanted it that way.
Hold up! Doesn't Josh supposedly have a blonde hair too? is that still considered blonde?
