I honestly don’t have that much of a problem with that because I think that despite the fact that the princess was doing a bad thing, the FL admired that. There was truth to what the FL was saying about their situations being pretty similar. They were both forced into marriages due to politics with men they didn’t know who were objectively much more powerful than them so if things went south they would be cooked. The princess, while wrong, only did what she did to take back her agency (even if she was doing it in an objectively disgusting way) with the only true assets available to her. The FL wanted to be more like her in the way that she fights for herself rather than the way that the FL let everything passively happen to her at the start of the story. TLDR: FL empathized with Princess due to circumstances but also was inspired by her proactiveness
But then here's the chapter (47) with the confrontation with the princess and I found the FL's sudden sympathy for the princess incredibly frustrating. After all the lessons, it felt like a complete 180. It undermined her character development and made her seem weak and easily swayed. I was hoping for a more assertive and confident response, especially considering the harm the princess was causing. Guuuurl ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
