Probably a hugely unpopular opinion but I believe Takumi does not love Hachi romantically. It was an ego thing and overtime he grew fond of her of course but I really think the one he truly loves is Reira as bitter a pill that is for some to swallow. She is his “one.” I feel sorry for Hachi she had kids and is married to a man that deep down wants somebody else.
