I think that's totally the case xD And as the other users said, the dad is the tiger, as in chapter 18 they mentions that lot of soldiers witnessed the duke turning into a tiger plus the uncle mentions that there are beastmens in the ancestors lineage of house Medeste... So looks totally that the temple kindnaps people of the Medeste lineage to turn them into divine beasts, as in chapter 12 flashback to the dinner in Hyrad duchess Medeste tells that often second and third childs of Medeste dissapear... super sus!!! The temple are the bad guys for sure!!!
