Omg I love this theory, I’ve been thinking about it for a long timeee and I’ve never knew how to put it in words. I think the same could be said for the WEBTOON the fox club. There is a variety of main characters, but they relate more to the average shy girl instead of the bold pretty one so they want to know more about the other one relationship, romantic dynamic, and what not and they get mad when the pretty and bold girl takes place or it revolves around it for a bit.
I for one love pretty female leads. I think it’s better for ppl to want or relate to the “under dog” especially if both are introduced at the same time, most ppl would prefer the average mc and I think it’s just bc of the reason you said too
Not really, I liked all the other couples, including the last two who only got a hint in the last chapter
But I couldn't bring myself to like the second couple. It was purely because their story was so stereotypical that I just couldn't bear it.
They had so many chances to get together when it was clear they both just kept orbiting around each other, but their misunderstandings and shit just kept dragging it on.
I liked the first couple because of their refreshing dynamic.
While I totally get that there are couples who have a really complicated relationship, I just don't like it everywhere. Half the korean romance stories have misunderstanding plots, so I was just hoping for a different take on their couple dynamic

but overall, it was sweet an cute story.

People are gonna go rabid in the replies but here goes: do you not like the second couple because they are bad, or because you see yourself as the MC and hence want the whole story to be about MC, basically you? ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
In many of these sort of shoujo stories, the second couple is always hated - ESPECIALLY if the second couple involves the guy who MC liked but he never liked her. Usually girls kin with / project themselves onto the MC and hence want the whole story to be focused on just the MC, and they’ll have a grudge against the guy in the other couple for not liking MC as well. It’s a thing - google it. Girls are super quick to dislike the second woman who appears and it’s sooo tiring. We really need more girl’s girls
