BEST COMMENT EVER!! Some people on X didn’t like the idea that Dan initiated the sex but I think this will open learnings to jaekyung on how different dan would be when they do it and how fucked up he is
I HOPEING so bad that Dan goes dead fish despite his initiation, and it pisses off JJk I'm hoping it'll make JJ realize what he broke- JJ's already getting a taste of how cold he is outside of bed, but he's only ever experienced a more lively warm Dan in bed. I hope the coming scene will drive home how much he destroyed their relationship
I said it last chapter and I'll say it again- I really enjoy this direction the story is going. This isn't the redemption arc, this is the chase arc, and i enjoy how they're separated. I love that Dan is reflecting on the time he was trapped in a delusion, recognizing and aligning his feelings. I love that he's expressing those feelings towards jjk. I love that JJk hasn't changed yet, it feels like a really nice slow burn. I like how JJ didn't seem to like the way their arrangement sounded when Dan told him point blank that he was hired as a "sex toy". This chapter is really enjoyed their interactions. I loved the scene when JJk tries to manipulate Dan by pointing out his emotions in the letter, and i love how Dan acknowledged his prior feelings, but also acknowledged his changed ones. I like how he those events continously impact his interaction.
I have faith that the writer is doing this intentionally. It would be very disappointing if they don't continue to handle this with a slow approach. I sincerely hope that Dan doesn't forgive him, and I hope that JJk slowly comes to understand that he did fuck up. I don't want it to hit like a truck, but rather a slow crushing weight. I'm further interesting to see the event that changes jjk, but tbh, I dont want it this instant, just when the time is right.
I also love the characterization. I like that JJks has a destructive personality. He doesn't cry and break down on the internal, but destroys himself and things around him. It's what landed them here, in their current situation. I love that Dan isn't really a "stand on buisness" type character. I like that he's susceptible to JJks personality. I like that they don't have the "even though your [flaw] drives everyone away, I'm strong enough to hold my ground against you" type of dynamic, but rather JJk with HAVE to change if he wants to pursue a future with Dan
And that's what we're seeing right now. We're not watching JJk change yet, we're watching him learn. He's not at the point where he can apply his newly learned knowledge.
