I think it's because they had that childhood connection. None of the other imperial family members had it, or they just thought he was a child and would grow out of the obsession I'm guessing.

I just thought........... how come *everyone else* in the imperial family is actually immune to Liena but that idiotic younger prince? ...Even his mother, the "evil" empress stepmother is immune? So WTF happened to that boy, ...why is he the only one that "turned out wrong"??
