When I came out to my parents my mom said that I need to have sex first to "really know" which gender I like. My dad said that he didn't agree with it, but he wasn't going to disown me or anything. They've both grown to be more understanding over the years as whenever my dad tells me to stay away from boys he now says to stay away from boys and girls. May not be the perfect understanding but at least he is accepting me as I am. Good luck to your friends. I hope her parents will come to understand one day as mine have (*^_^*)
