I think the way FL behaved is quite normal. She came from a much lower ranking family, and even in that family she wasn't valued or treated right. She's just afraid that ML might think she's over stepping her boundaries and then cancel the contract. At least she has to tell ML that she wants to get close to Rebecca because she finds her cute and pitiful at least once. Otherwise it's completely possible for ML to misunderstand she's plotting (she could be a spy or smth and use Rebecca to plot against him a bit extreme but yeah)

I forgot her name already but the wife is annoying. Did she not read the contract at all? She can literally talk to everyone but the Duke unless it's about an emergency or important work. She has the same power has him if he is going make her take lesson to take on household tasks. She does not need his permission to do anything outside of her normal routine of talking to friends or talk to the niece, show that child love and ignore the duke ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ
