Based on how the artist chose to draw the main Karka guy, I have a strong feeling he won’t be given much thought after this portion of her plan plays out. The artist gave him the same crazy eyes as her brother. If he is given more screen time then it’ll only serve as an accelerant for the Duke’s jealousy.
not only were the karka kingdom people the stereotypical barbaric ethnic race in this story but now are being pushed to act the violent, rash and savage part, using their culture being disrespected as a way to achieve it. how will this be explained i wonder. maybe it’ll be a punishment for how “brutish” they are and so it justifies the means.
look, i don’t want, need or even like for every story to be cookie cutter perfect, everyone is a saint and no bad exists in the world but its so tiring to see it always be put on the fictional races that are meant to be the POC’s in the story. it is such a tired trope. im so sick of it.
and now a sudden second male love interest? i just don’t have the will to give a damn anymore.
