I think it's because of their mental issues. You see how it started between them? Their relationship felt forced from the start because the ml wasn't letting go of mc. He loved him(fell in love at first sight) got obsessed and started feeling like he wasn't enough for him when mc started to work and make decisions for himself. He wanted mc to be dependent only on him at some point(?) and yeah, he didn't like mc's workplace people, always had the insecurity to think men will touch him and his(mc) health will deteriorate. Mc had suffered so much with no sole person to love him so, ml was the first, he was dependent on him in their college years and got attached but it hurts him inside. Soon, it got toxic when ml started to abuse him after mc would be dis-obeying. He thought mc don't like him but it's just his insecurities acting up. Like in most relationships, when someone gets too attached, they start acting agressive at some point just because their partner won't listen to them. That's kinda thing is going on here and moreover ml was suffering at his own workplace. We can see their past in recent chapters ranging from their college life of how they met upto now where the mc is still a young developer in office. Things get more interesting in next chapters but it'll hurt you and get more depressing.
