Maybe the rights for translating the manga was transferred or something. Not sure if its still on going but when I was joining some translation discord group the reason they are dropping it was not because they no longer want it but lost the rights to do it. Some translation group are doing it for free, some are not. ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
just because you lose the rights or get the rights doesn't mean you have to start all over. or for that matter with a whole new set up. there are a lot of ways to upload on the first cover/webpage/marker is and/or was. people were doing just fine and dandy doing it until this year. when suddenly it's "let's confuse the heck out of everyone by not finishing any manga, instead we're starting them over in the same shape as before and doubling up" (well most i've seen are same shape or even worse)....
Im not trying to defend them. Im actually have same sentiments with you. Im just sharing that if the initial scanlation team lose rights, means they cant continue the free translation. They basically own nothing because they do it for free time. If they try they can even be sued if they continue it. As for another scanlation team taking over and redoing the whole manga. Well, if you own something, surely you would like to remove anything associated with it, be known and change it how you want it to be. Again it sucks, but they paid for it. Other scanlation teams also take it as business and actually make living for it.
Anyway, I stop worrying these things because aside from its frustrating, Im just a poor bitch and just reading stuff for free. ╥﹏╥
i used to do this too, and i walked away from it for many reasons.....i for one...depended on the last groups work. they did a good job, leave it up, go from where they left off, if not. that's where the start over happens. BUT, still used the same set up on the webpage we were using because it took up less space on the server

if it was marked (official) i wouldn't be complaining about it
instead of confusing us all and starting a whole new thing like "hey look new manga" when it's really not. Why not do like a Anime movie says "Finish what you started human" and go finish up the unfinished version that was started years ago and then left hanging? Because i am REALLY getting sick and tired of chasing tail ends of manga's only to find them started over and then dropped again and again instead of finished.
