Sadly this age gap was pretty normal back in the day. It feels gross to us now, but back then women were considered "Ready for marriage" as soon as their period started.
I think it was something about how they thought a period meant the body was ready to have children, but don't quote me on that.
The child versus a adult thing is quite tragic and thank God we don’t do that anymore. however if we’re talking age gap I’ve seen couples with 20+ year gap in North America as soon as last week with grown children that indicate young marriage. In my opinion You can mary as young as you want no younger than 18 obviously but the age gap can not exceed 4years at that young age and for adults the limit is 8 to 10 years tops because thinking he was 20 when she was born it’s just creepy and the opposite is also true of course. That is just my opinion
