im confused why did his mom hate him that much??

i think since the Dad died, and his younger brother looks like the Dad the mom really dotes on him, like really REALLY like u know, being in love with ur son or something, idk i think thats how the mom cope with her husband dying a. and when the younger brother said that he would marry the older one, the mom feels like she have a rival with the love of the younger one
