EN: https://danmeinovel.com/manga/thrive-in-catastrophe/

Other TL
-Back from Death's Door (confirmed with Lilith they're dropping it hence I'm picking it up)

My version (as usual, if you followed my other series)
-includes novel lores
-fixes plot holes or adaptation gaps
-uncensored kiss scenes (no there's no smut in OG Manhua, or should I try drawing it? Hmm, maybe not... )

Enjoy!

Could you please keep the names as they are in the novel? Especially the names of the main characters. I believe changing them is, in a way, an infringement on the writer’s work. Of course, I don’t mean any offense, but I’m sure the author must have imagined this novel countless times in their mind, and chose the names deliberately and meaningfully. Changing them takes away some of the spirit of the original work, in my opinion. Anyway, that’s just my personal view. Thank you for reading my comment.

Thank you for your comment. But I have a special take on this topic though. Authors who wrote the story sometimes pay no mind to minor characters, thats why they put random names. Those who wrote many novels also care less and less what the names are. (That's why you get simple first name as character name but some have surname, the author isn't even consistent). Most of the time, they want it to sound nice in OG language (not in translated language) that's why some historical Rofan in Korean sounds butchered. Even in this story and others I've translated, if the Main Characters have foreign named, it's horrible is directly trandslated. Eg. Jane as second male lead name is so horrible. Sharon Michelle sounds nice but obviously also butchered because author is not native English speaker. If I were an author, I'd rather translator made "proper" adjustments so that native speaker wouldn't feel "out" when reading (think other languages as well Spanish, Russian etc.) Sometimes, the names when randomly picked sounds really off and pulls reader out of the immersion. That's my experience. There are people who comment that ML name is meaningful the Chinese word means ocean but.. it's an English name, so no it's not. If that world, they wouldn't think the English name means Ocean and it's irrelevant and doesn't match the character. What's worse, the common translation Hein/Heineken reminds me of ketchup Heinz.. it's awful. In OG they might sound good but not in English. Those that have meaning like Maya, i'll preserve. But those obviously only to sound good in Cn but bad in English, I'll stick to changing them because I just can't put "not well thought out names" in my translation.

I understand your perspective, and I believe you make a valid point. I truly appreciate the effort you put into the translation, as well as the thoughtful notes you include at the end of each chapter. Given all the work you've done, I think it's fair that you choose to change the names if you feel it serves the text better. It’s clear that you see the translated version as a work of art in its own right, one that should be presented in a way that resonates with the target audience. That’s something to be respected indeed.
