TBH, I'm not really sure that's the case. She technically agreed to be Kirito's mate first (by accident of course, but there's a strong narrative case to be made that that's how the story will end). Her relationship with Hayato is more developed, but I'm pretty sure Kirito is the intended true ML. There is also the possibility they could end up in a thrupple situation. It doesn't usually happen in stories like this, but they way it's going...
The whole love triangle could be left out of the story, I literally don't care who she ends up with. But I guess it spices things up a bit ┑( ̄Д  ̄)┍
Before you come for me - I don't mean it in a bad way, it's more of a compliment that the story could still function without it bc of the good plot (and I simply detest love triangles)
