Considering all the drama that the author caused due to plagiarism, its gonna be hard for this manhua to continue. Not to mention the content of story is already altered by the adaptation team to deleted all plagiarism scene. The story of the novel and manhua might be so different rn

WMMAP novel author, copying this novel https://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/daughter_of_the_emperor/ ,I recs you to looks it up for more detail. But heres the summary if the drama:

1. The DOTE author, called out WMMAP for plagiarism her works. The DOTE author still isnt get any justice till now bcs WMMAP is from a big publisher, not to mention how popular the manhwa. Its said the author been fighting for 8+ years rn.
2. The author(spoon) sued ppl who called WMMAP works of plagiarism(which is weird cuz the evidence is a lot). She win btw.
3. Bcs of this controversy surface in the middle of manhwa adaptation, the artist need to change the story in order to delete the scene whos result of plagiarism.
4. Some of WMMAP fans is still in denial and spread rumors that DOTE is the one who copying WMMAP.

Wait but I thought this was originally a novel? That's still crazy tho didn't know abt this.

And, oh my goodness the whole thing sounds terrible. I feel conflicted cause I really enjoyed reading this one, but learning this was plagiarised makes me feel iffy about it

I have read both works and yes their are some similarities but they are not the same. For me its much like how the omega verse plagiarism was also being pushed by took book authors ,but it was widely known that the idea came from online fanfiction sites. We have many regression child and baby manga and novels so often you will read common ideas but the whole plot is not the same. For me I like reading these common type of manga as I like to see how each author will change theirs along the way. The way I see it, it would be like an author calling out all novels that have anything remotely the same with any part of someone else's work. The better author is the one whom delivers the concept the best. Just like the better the concept of a car or truck the one that sells the best.

This makes a lot of sense, I remember reading Emperor's Daughter and then WMMAP and thinking how FREEKING similar they were. But it's also true that after idk 2019-2020 or maybe earlier, ALL the isekai webtoons have pretty similar plots or themes. In Emperor's Daughter she obviously has a different way of suffering from Athy but the resemblance is uncanny. I didn't know the author was fighting for over 8 years. Yikes.

I mean it's pretty shitty that another company that has nicer art styles takes your work and modifies a few things and gets more recognition than you. I'm glad the author won the case.
