uke may not be trying too hard but he is suffering for sure
Could be shounen ai or yaoi that centers around the uke living an unfortunate life e.g. he is poor, depressed, lonely, orphan, alone etc but he is still fighting hard to live even if life is a bitch to him. I'd highly prefer if his lifestyle is not portrayed in a comedic way, I want to really feel his genuine suffering. Uke may want the seme but don't need him as his pillar of strength... and please no jerk seme.
