The novel is pretty good I’ll try and explain the main parts.. I just read it but my memory is pretty shit so l try my best lol

So not too long after this, Chase goes to a big party hosted by the person producing his movie, Keith Pittman (the ml in the author’s other series kiss me liar). There Chase almost goes into a rut after an omega tries to seduce him. Josh ends up finding chase and gives him a handjob to stop chase from going into a rut. This is kind of the beginning of their relationship but Chase is pissed that this happened. Not too long after that, the point where they start getting feelings for each other imo is when an organization against extreme alphas attacks them. Josh and Chase get separated from the rest and end up getting lost in the middle of nowhere while trying to flee from the organization. In this scene a bunch of coyotes try to attack them and Josh protects Chase. Chase has a deadly fear of dogs and goes into shock and passes out. When he wakes up he’s surprised to see that Josh survived all the coyotes, Josh teases Chase for passing out and asks to kiss Chase as a reward. They end up getting saved via helicopter from the other bodyguards. Josh passes out from his injuries and Chase freaks the fuck out and refuses to let anyone near Josh. This leads to them starting a sexual relationship kind of which later blurs into both getting feelings. The reason why Chase is kind of an asshole in the story is because of his family. As a kid he was showed as kind, but his family kind of fucked that up. He had no interest in sexual relationships with omegas because he didn’t like the idea of being submissive to pheromones, so he refused to undergo his rut with an omega. Bc of this, he had to be injected with drugs to overcome his ruts. During one of the times where his rut came, his brother (who is a fucking asshole), drugged him so his rut could pass, but when Chase woke up, the brother told Chase that he did his rut with a dog (hence Chase’s dog trauma) Chase didn’t.. as I said his brother is just a major fucking asshole. That plot line was weird. Even after finding out it never happened, Chase is still traumatized by dogs. Near the end of the book, Chase meets Josh’s son Pete for the first time (Josh and Chase are dating at this point, there wasn’t a huge thing it just morphed into a relationship) and Pete ends up getting lost chasing a dog (Pete’s favorite animal is a dog). Chase tries to overcome his fear and ends up saving Pete (who almost fell into a pond). After this Josh finds them, he asks Chase why he would go near a dog to save Pete and Chase replies “it’s because he’s your son” this is when the reveal happens and Josh reveals that Pete is Chase’s son too. That was the last chapter of the main story. In the Epilogue they show that they have another son, Cecil. There’s side stories too but I didn’t read those fully yet. Okay so that’s what I thought! But when I read the novel Cecil is a boy, but he wears girls clothes. In the novel, he said the main reason he wears girls clothes is because he thinks it makes Josh happy
