Why is everyone else okay with this?!

Yeah. I get that they didn’t think of each other as siblings. It’s still weird, but I don’t have so much of an issue with it (I think it was dealt with fairly well).

No, my problem is that nearly everyone else doesn’t have a problem with it. Sorry, but Bessie should be freaked the fuck out. The nobles should find it gross and the Emperor should have used it as pretext to keep them apart if he was shipping Lydia with his son.

It’s so unrealistic for very nearly everyone around them to be fine with it, and kinda creepy for the only people having (what I’m assuming is a normal ‘ew, they’re related’ reaction) to be treated as ‘trash’ by the narrative.

Did the dimensional god do this too?!

I think it isn't that weird or the author didn't make it seem that way cause, let's be honest, if we look back into history it was very common to marry between family or blood related family (especially in royalty). Nowadays, it isn't well seen (thank god), especially for the fact that the children are born with deformities or other diseases, but I think that's why the author didn't make ppl in the novel react that way.
