SPOILERS
I haven't read the novel, the spoilers are from spoiler forums
It's goona be lengthy
The story has 3 volume
( VOL 4 IS COMING IN 2024 AND IT WAS MENTIONED THTA IT WILL BE LAST VOLUME )
Vol 1
I can't remember a whole lot of specific details, but Vincent stumbles upon Oriana during a thunderstorm. There had been a thunderstorm raging the night she and (first life) Vince had died, so Oriana finds herself spiraling and choked up with anxiety. Vincent, despite how much of a tsundere he is with her in this life, covers her with his cloak to hide her from passerby as she tries to calm down, and he stays as she confesses that someone dear to her had died on a night like that one.
Vincent realises over time that there are more facets to Oriana than he'd been allowing himself to see when it came to her, and he becomes jealous of this Vince in her memories. He knows that technically Vince is him, but at the same time, their lived experiences are not the same. He, Vincent, is not the one who Oriana fell in love with, especially since Vincent can't fathom how Vince was able to choose Oriana (a commoner) over his duty as the heir of his family's duchy. This upsets him deeply because he's falling so hard for her, but he feels as if she only sees and loves him as Vince instead of who he is in this life. They actually have a conversation about that at some point. She admits that especially at first, it really had been like that, but she'll try harder to see him as simply Vincent from that point on (she already does care for him as he is in this life, but iirc she'd only confessed that to herself).
There's also one part where Vincent is taken aback because Oriana uncharacteristically becomes hysterical about his health. She's always been extremely concerned about his health, but she just about loses it (iirc he'd said something about how such-and-such won't kill him) and ends up telling him that he'd died in his previous life. Although he doesn't completely believe her at this point, he consents to doing regular health examinations to ease her anxiety.
Later, there's also a ball. They end up going together. There's a moment when Oriana and Vincent are hiding in the bushes, but her hair gets snagged on a branch. She has difficulty freeing herself in the dark and ends up sprawled on top of him. Vincent really... was going through it LOL Oblivious to how her body was pressed so closely against his, she keeps shifting on top of him as she tries to get off of him. Vincent begs her to stop moving, but she's scared of hurting him, especially she can feel something hard between them. Oblivious, she asks him if it's his wand. And he's like, "Yeah... it's... a wand." dlkadljksadlkja To which she's like, "Oh, no, it might break like this, and it's not easy to replace one's wand." (not verbatim) And says that she'll free his wand for him. Vincent is... just like IT'S FINE. DON'T.
Something, something, before graduation arrives, Vincent realises that he does want to be with Oriana enough to choose her. He won't give up his duty as the ducal heir, but he tells her that he's going back home and that he'll be back by the beginning of the next week, so wait for him. He has something to tell her at that point. His father says that he, at the very least, wants to meet Oriana. Things are looking really good, so Vincent rushes back to the school, eager to tell her. A sudden thunderstorm causes him to be late. He hopes that she's alright since she'd been so upset the last time there was a storm.
He finds her in the lounge in the eastern building he'd frequented so often during his time at the academy, seemingly asleep. But he realises quickly that something's wrong when he notices how strangely the fire in the fireplace is burning. When he rushes back to Oriana's side, he discovers that her body is cold, and she's not breathing. Vol. 1 ends with them both dying again, but this time Vincent has a better idea of what was the cause of their deaths, including in their first lives.
Vol 2.
It's from Vincent's PoV this time. When they meet at the academy again, he discovers that Oriana doesn't remember him, and it's in this life that he learns just how much 2nd Life Oriana sacrificed just to stay by his side and how painful it is for the one you love to not have the memories and feelings you once shared. He ends up appreciating her so much more, and he, of course, falls in love with her again in this life (and she with him as well). He started this life at age 4-5, so he sets things in motion even before they start school so that Oriana's family will have a better standing amongst the nobility, which will, in turn, make it easier for him to marry her in the future. Etc. etc.
Vol 3
That doesn’t get fully revealed until the last (third) volume of the novel, which hasn’t been released in English yet, so I’m not sure. iirc volume 2 hints that their deaths are related to the Dragon Tree (the fireplace on the nights of their deaths was burning not from regular wood, but from a branch broken off from the Dragon Tree). It’s also mentioned that the Tree always kills a man and a woman.
Some extra info
This is the 7th life, and the next one is the last cause if they die for the 8th time then it's the end and they'll die for real.
-Miguel knew the reason they keep dying which is "the dragon's curse" that keeps targeting lovers and a friend of theirs until the lovers prove themselves to the dragon and the friend should be the "judge" and that's why the friend always remembers every life.
But even though Miguel knew the reason he still didn't know how to break the curse and every time he intervened it caused them to die earlier than they're supposed to, so he decided to watch over them from afar .
he also said that Oriana & Vincent didn't always remember the past life sometimes they would and sometimes they wouldn't, so Miguel is the only one to remember every single life it's really surprising that he managed to stay sane for this whole time
A bit more info regarding the dragon's curse
So it doesn't specifically target any lovers
In This case what happened was couple of upperclassmen were playing where the dragon tree was and they broke a brach by accident and because it's kind of against the law to hidd it they put the brach in fireplace, in the room where the ml and fl dies. And that's the start of the time loop
And that's the strat of curse that's why when we read about student getting there wand it was specifically mentioned to not break a brach cause it will cause some issue
Omg i couldn't resist the spoiler and i am absolutely shookedt. i actually thought the angst in this one is minimal ╥﹏╥
