I’m going to get downvoted for this but

Does anyone else feel like Hyera, though she was a villain, is the only character that seems to be decently written?

What I’m saying is she had a character arc whereas all of the other characters just feel one dimensional and stereotypical to me. Minji (I think that’s her name) is the stereotypical cutesy bottom. Yuna is the stereotypical attractive top. It’s just… boring.

Like I said, fully aware Hyera is meant to be an antagonist but at LEAST she spiced up the story. I found myself only really enjoying it when she was around. And I WISH this was longer so I would’ve got to see and read more about her. Shes really the only interesting character here… sorry :/

But Hyera is the stereotypical pink hair b*tch lmao, the only difference is that the base for her trope has more data.

Every story has a sterotypical character. Her being a mean girl stereotype WASNT the point of my comment????

The point was her being more developed character wise from a WRITERS standpoint than the other characters.. this is exactly why I titled this “might get downvoted” because of a clear misinterpretation on your part.

“Has more data” has more depth*** that was the point of my entire comment brother.

Correcting more data to more depth made me realize I almost started to argue with a rock

Maybe you’re the rock since it takes a while for you to comprehend a relatively easy way explanation. You used “data” while I’m describing the DEPTH a character has. You can keep going back and forth over yourself clearly misinterpreting something and overall replying to me for absolutely no reason, or you can open your mind to comprehend something that’s easy to understand.

Maybe I need to explain it so you can actually understand what I was saying, if you even have the capacity to read this much.

Stereotypical characters are fine but the issue is when they’re poorly written or under written. I’m a writer myself. Minji is the perfect example of what I’m talking about. She’s a trope you see in almost every other yuri. It’s the same repeated thing and her character isn’t given an actual personality other than the fact that she’s an emotional, cutesy bottom. That’s it. That’s the character. Yuna isn’t given a personality other than she’s lesbian, jealous and hot. That’s it. That’s the character.

It FEELS underdeveloped. And everyone that reads this writer unfortunately knows she needs an author that can properly write characters.

Whereas Hyera actually got a bit of depth to her character. We see her personality and emotions shift and vary so many times in BTD and it feels authentic. Hyera got the time to have some actual good character development that makes her work as an antagonist, whereas Minji and Yuna’s arch felt rushed and overall forced. All of the piles of drama also feel forced.

Hopefully you can understand the fact that I’m not directly talking about the characters themselves I’m talking about the way this was written. This is so easy to comprehend and I don’t think I should’ve had to give an essay on it either.

i get what you mean, bc literally any character, actually even any person could be simply categorized as some sort of stereotype but especially in books you have to add more depth and nuance and characterization to differentiate them, and i think hyera was that tbh
