I know our couple are strong af, it's just that I'd rather the father comeback to fix his relationship with Mr. Kwon explain why he failed as a father and ask for forgiveness than appear in the story as a character who's against of their relationship (because he doesn't have the rights for that or even cause unnecessary stress and drama between the couple)
He's probably there for the drama coz too much sugar bad for ur health..the author usually introduces drama (not between the couple) that gets solved in 1-2 chapters. And then there's sweetness again
