I’m not sure which part you are confused about so I will just give a short summary of what I can remember.
From season 1 we know that Youngwoon the MC is the manager of SeoIn the ML. Youngwoon and SeoIn crushed on each other in middle school but SeoIn’s stepbro created a massive misunderstanding between them: Youngwoon saw SeoIn and stepbro kissing and stepbro was smiling at Younwon. As a result Youngwoon never confessed. When SeoIn flew abroad, stepbro beat up Youngwoon and gave him a career ending injury. SeoIn’s mom silenced Youngwoon’s deadbeat and abusive dad by giving him money so Youngwoon decided to look out for himself by running away with the money. SeoIn came back to Korea and couldn’t get in contact with Youngwoon anymore so bro was brokenhearted probably and grew up resenting Youngwoon.
Then in season 2, we learn about SeoIn’s past and why he grew up to be such an ass to Youngwoon.
SeoIn was adopted as a child by an actress (woman with black hair) to cope with the loss of one of her twins; hence she was telling SeoIn how similar he looked to her and her son. I don’t remember what the son’s name is so I will call him stepbro. The stepbro hated Seoin so he bullied and harassed him every chance he got while the mom turned a blind eye. No matter how much SeoIn tried to fight back nothing he did seem to affect stepbro. The only time he saw stepbro unnerved was when he lost in a judo competition against Youngwoon. Flash forward to middle school, SeoIn saw Youngwoon for the first time after his stepbro’s Judo competition - the scene where Youngwoon was crying because he got 3rd instead of 1st. Now this is where it gets dicey, SeoIn might not have befriended Youngwoon in middle school with the purest intention like we thought because earlier from Youngwoons memory SeoIn told him he was a big fan of Youngwoon when they first interacted in class.
