i understand what is being discussed here but everything seems a bit extreme for me. yes, we’re all glad that his mom is just worried about him and how he’ll face the hardships of being queer, she knows her son and that’s loving from her side in a way… as long as she keeps it to herself. it really isn’t that deep. she’s thinking of the worst case scenario instead of being happy for her son, because he found someone that cares for him, loves him and makes him happy, shouldn’t that be enough? everything else can be figured out later, he can come to her when he feels disheartened or hurt and as a loving mother, she will be there for him. that’s all she can do. i guess we have to see how she goes about this, but i feel like she would start making it difficult for them to be together under the pretense of “protecting him”. just a reminder that is not enough to be loved, you have to be loved BETTER.
