My two cents on the "side quests"

With all due respect to the people complaining about "side quests", lmao literally Deborah's goal is to amass as much wealth, people and resources as possible, so the "side quests" y'all are complaining about IS the main quest. The romance is the side quest for her lol

Like??? I don't get it. If they went straight to the main plot, this manhwa would've ended earlier- and I DONT LIKE THAT ༎‿༎ I wish the author+artist makes endless side chapters for this..

Also these "side quests" are the foundation of Deborah's relationship with Isidore! They met because Deborah needs money and needs an accomplice to make her schemes happen, and Isidore accomplishes to be, both as the Guildmaster and as Isidore. So if those "side quests" get pushed to the side at least 80% of their relationship development is pretty much gone and it's pretty boring ahahah

I think want people mean it that while these are main quests for Deborah, for the audience they get repetitive and boring. They aren't what the audience really want to focus on so they are side quests to the readers. In a well balanced story, her main quests would coincide with moving the plot forward, but instead she just keeps making money and we barely get a hint at the more interesting plot points.

Like right now we are hinting at awakening another divine beast, which is interesting. If all her wealth amassing tied into what the audience considers the main plot, that would be good. Instead she makes Starbucks and that barely moves the conflicts/plot in this story forward. I guess it helped a bit with her and Isadore, but I would argue it was one of the least interesting ways to throw the two together to hang out.

I dont think the story needs to be high action or drama, but the story has set up high drama and action and just never delivered because it's so focused on her getting money. Deborah as a character should be focused on that yes, but the plot should interfere in it, create problems that get in the way of her getting wealth or have her be forced to do something else bc the main antagonist (cant remember her name), begins to interrupt and try to harm Deborah or her reputation. The story begins with the idea that Deborah is the villainess condemned to ruin and the heroine is destined to defeat her and live a happy life. Deborah thinks to avoid that with money, but that shouldn't truly solve her issue. As she changes and becomes kinder and her perception shifts, we should see an equal pull of the books story as it tries to force her back into her role or as Mia (finally remembered her name I think) begins to fit into the villainess role and Deborah unwillingly becomes a heroine.

Anyway I know I wrote a lot so you might not read this (sorry, I have a degree in English so I know a lot about writing stories and this story interests me in terms of pacing), but I think the main issue in this manga is how much it focuses on capitalism and how little it focuses on character relationships and development along with moving the plot forward. I still like this story, but it has stagnated. So many interesting things have been introduced and then forgotten, and I just think that even if the wealth stuff is how Deborah and Isadore met, it shouldn't be the only way for them to interact going forward since now they are stuck in a business relationship.

I just want less of what the majority of the audience considers side quests even if it's the main quest for Deborah. Deborah is a character so what she wants isn't always what the author should want to focus on. There should be a way to balance the two out. But I'm not the author and I have heard the novel struggles even more with this issue and have seen many complain about how boring it was since it barely touches on what the audience found intriguing. I just hope the manga gets back to the interesting plot stuff soon.
