I read a fan translation on Wattpad(which I can’t find anymore ) and I recall these scenes playing out basically the same. Can you explain the difference from what you read and the manhwa?
Maybe I'm remembering wrong then cuz I read the novel some years ago but I'm pretty sure the incident was between Ash and actually Kyle's husband who was supposed to be the person Ash loved or something and then when Ash realised his mistake Karlyle was already very heartbroken and then he had to apologise like anything to redeem himself and win back the distraught Karlyle.
I even recall a discussion with another reader somewhere but if I'm wrong then I'm sorry. That's why I was very happy and surprised when the story moved so smoothly in the manhwa and everything was so sunshine and rainbows.

I was annoyed also, bc you say you’re hung up on Nick but then say you started dating alphas bc you were trying to find that alpha from NYE. Which was it buddy. I also didn’t like Ash very much either in the beginning. He wasn’t very genuine, I’m gonna treat you so romantic but It doesn’t really mean anything to me, until of course you’re gone.
Yes!! Exactly!! Ash just coming back for forgiveness after hurting precious Karlyle was really very annoying. That's why I was anxious about what would happen in the manhwa but I'm so happy they changed the story to make Ash lovable from the beginning. I had doubts about his actions but they have long been washed away. Only thing to see now is how the couple overcomes their insecurities.
This thing with Hazel is being dealt in a better way in the manhwa because the novel came up with a very infuriating way of making Ash the douche in the relationship. I definitely hated that. But here Ash is a loyal lover and I'm so happy for it.
Ash and Karlyle both are still so reserved and scared of hurting the other by expressing themselves. And they don't realise it themselves!! Everything was so happy and I was all mad and giddy reading Ash in rut but then the side stories came crashing down on my head like qkhdoqvdosjdoele what the fuck!?
The friends are at fault. No matter what you shouldn't be going around discussing an ex of the person who invited you to celebrate his life with his current partner. They really don't have any kind of brain-to-mouth filter. The last panel gave me a mini heart attack TT
