OR, the lil bro was under a rebellious phase and something bad happened to him. He seems like an omega, so he might have been r*ped or molested by alphas. Because of that he leans a lot on his brother. He probably would hate all alphas if his bother wasn't gentle. And because of that, he asked his brother to promise to not act like those bad alphas. Dunno, this is just an idea, but the trauma they both seem to have is on this level of bad.
One more thing. If what I said before is correct, it also explain why the only time we see the ML in a firm, cold attitude was when MC was being harassed. He probably can't stand alphas who do that stuff to omegas. And he protected MC just like he would have wanted to protect his lil brother.
