I think that's the point. I kinda read somewhere that the author purposely wrote jiho like he's the 2nd ml just to defy the "law of webnovel." She made Jiho yearns for Dan-I since middle school yet the readers can only see his yearning and devotion if they squint their eyes lol.
I don't really care who Dan-I's ended up with because everyone's good lmao, but I'm leaning more towards Jiho. Jiho likes Dan-I since middle school and even changed his shitty personality for her. Compared to chunyoung who keeps arguing with Dan-I because of their lack of communication, Jiho is much better for her (you can reread the part where she tried to stay away from them in the earliest chapters and his reaction towards her request) she's also not afraid to speak her mind towards him and even talk about her future with him.
Also, a spoiler but you know how Dan-I get together with Yeodan? Apparently, Jiho regretted it so much that once the two of them broke up, he immediately pursued Dan-I (this is based on the spoilers I read so I'm looking forward to more Jiho's screentime) Also, to further cement Jiho as the pitiful 2nd ml, Jiho was the only son so he's expected to be the heir and watch his behavior, his parents are strict (or at least used to, idk) this can be seen by his personality in middle school and his room which was empty (iirc, in the novel he had a TV in his room but that TV can only air... boring things? like no drama or movie at all) Dan-I was the only thing that he really wanted in his life.
Plus, he's the only one who remembered Dan-I when everyone forget about her (also the only one who took a REAL effort to 'search' for her when even that boy who called her 'mom' refused to)
From what I read in the novel, im pretty sure I think jiho is the ml
I feel bad for yeo-dan BCS I've heard that eun jiho (white haired guy) is actually the ml and that chungyun or whatever the spelling is, he is the second ml.
But like I'm RLLY sad about yeo Dan not being the ml my boy deserves to be the ml
