hell yeah. I've asked my girlfriend why she loves me a bunch of times because i doubt myself lol
Childhood abuse and bad relationships cause really low self esteem. People ask that question because they have been raised or brainwashed to believe they are worthless. When told they are loved they can't understand why.
I have genuinely asked that because I have no idea why anyone would wanna date a gremlin like me---and don't get me wrong it's not a matter of self esteem for me, I'm still very sane and mentally healthy, I just genuinely don't understand "why me".
Do people really ask today "why do you love me?". Never occurred to me to ask that. And I don't know what I'd do with the answer
