Many people loose the ability to fight a repeated abuser, it's kinda a learned helplessness. All he could think of was surviving and he didn't want his brother to get hurt. I don't think he would have been able to go through with it, I think he was buying time to think of something or for help to come.

Legit left a bad taste in my mouth. FUCK WAS THAT????? YOU COULDNT EVEN ATTEMPT TO FIGHT BACK? ALL THAT BICH HAD WAS A KNIFE. RUN ATLEAST? Nahhh the author messed up and IS also messed up.
