I think it's more so that the og villain that remains in him likes his fiance and he "himself" loved his ex fiance
also it was mentioned in some chapter that he is having a harder time differentiating between him and og villain
One chapter he says he feels love for his fiance , and the next chapter he is crying over his ex fiance saying he only loves her
