It's the fact that he accidentally killed his father, therefore he can smell the demon, which only parent-killers can.
His mother is well aware that it was only an accident, but psychologically, she still either holds a grudge or is scared of him, therefore she tormented him mentally, while at the same time she loves him.
That explains why she, on one hand, said it would be no big deal if he had gotten run over by the car, but on the other hand told the police that SOMEBODY broke into the house, stabbed her and kidnapped her child.
H-Haruki's past...that...that was Soo sad and disturbing...but it was an accident right...? I doubt it's even real...what...if...that actually happened...and...you know...Haruki...actually had met Nishi as a child maybe in the hospitals...and you never know...Nishi had empathy or sympathy towards the child and well...erased his memories??? I mean we do know if it's that's the car or if it's even true...the plot's thickening and I'm sat-ed and glued to the chair XD I'd like to marinate this one...but I'm impatient so...I'll just read it whenever we get an update plus I really really love the Ghost girl. She is such a sad yet loveable and hyper ghost
