Yeah, the translation could be better. Rather than sounding elegant, the characters just come across like someone who recently discovered a thesaurus.
Exactly. I still enjoy this bc I understand translation requires a lot of time and expertise, but I think it can be really stuffy at times.

The flowery speech works well in Steel Under Silk (reads like a lot of period novels and historical fantasy I've read). In this one it makes me beg for peace "my royal appendage" ENOUGH Doram is so cute but I feel he has big problems coming his way...
