Im pretty sure they’re at the 5th floor when lyle sees hazel and ash together but then he goes in the elevator to go leave and sees ash waiting for him in the first floor ( Ash went down the staircase??)
Lyle was in the elevator when the doors opened and he saw Ash with Hazel. Doors closed and he went down as u can see he exiting the elevator. Then he turns around to press the button he sees the elevator is quickly descending revealing Ash when the doors open.
Help I was also thinking the same thing, most of me was focused on the story but a tiny part was trying to understand how the heck the elevator floors worked
Actually I’m glad the misunderstanding got resolved, but something thats been bugging me is the elevator thing — does lyle enter the elevator, go to the fifth floor, the door then opens, and then closes, (where ash presumably pressed for the elevator) before ending back to the first floor?
Y’all I’m thinking too much but like that entire sequence did not make sense
