You obviously didn’t get it. The ML was obsessing over MC, he even said he was. ML set himself up for that, why wouldn’t the MC not have lingering feelings of hate when the kid he saved ended up taking his dreams. He wasn’t even toxic, he calmly told ML he needed time but ML was too pushy and inpatient. And when he ended things with ML he kindly declined and said why and those were valid reasons.
MC and 2nd ML deserve each other, both are trash. I hope they end up together. ML deserves so much better so I hope he finds someone who'll cherish him so dearly.
